Welcome to our newest adventure - our blog. I'm writing today as the farm manager, encouraging discussion on the "Soul of Organics". It's the spirit of nature that got me hooked on farming & I'm continually searching ways to incorporate this spirit in our day to day work at the farm. As the manager I can easily be turning my energy into managing the work load and not appreciate our roaming fields. Luckily we have young people working with us through the Americorps and MOFGA apprenticeship programs - they help keep me grounded! One of our first steps for daily centering will be morning garden meditations. Got any to share? Perhaps we'll share some with you. Well that's all I'm going to write for now, especially since I'm trying to figure out how this blogging system works!

Hi, It's me again trying out this blogging system.
The "soul of organics" definitely includes being in touch & working with the weather. We went from 60 degrees on Saturday to the teens by Wednesday - with everything freezing up. Now exactly a week later its in the 40's and pouring rain. It can add stress to complete your field work in a timely fashion to be in tune with mother nature.
My winter weather prediction is: cold - hitting the minus 20 degrees quite a few times, and then the storms will come up the south coast bringing either rain or heavy wet snow. (oh no - I don't like my prediction!)
