School Garden Update: Edna Libby

Our fourth school garden project was sown this past spring with nine raised beds at Edna Libby Elementary in Sebago Lake Village. Students were involved from the start, toting buckets of soil to fill their beds and picking the first crops before school let out for the summer. Now we're preparing to work with enthusiastic students and teachers once again. There will be tomatoes, broccoli, kale, watermelon, beets, carrots, hot peppers, beans, onions, and herbs to harvest for their cafeteria; fall greens to transplant; heirloom seeds to save; a few flowers to dry; and, soon enough, garlic to plant and beds to prep for the winter. Where did the summer go?
